Why I learned Sanskrit?

                                     

Chapter 5 verses 8-9 of the wonderful Bhagavad Gita speak of action: A person in the divine consciousness, although engaged in seeing, hearing, touching, smelling, eating, moving about, sleeping, and breathing, always knows within himself that he actually does nothing at all.

I was inspired by this, (that if you are still, you are a channel for a power that works through you), so wrote a song based around the Sanskrit text of the Gita "Naiva Kincit Karomiti"

આ હકીકત નો મને સૌ પ્રથમ અનુભવ નવેમ્બર ૧૯૭૦ માં કાર્ગો શીપ "કનિષ્ક" ઉપર સિંગાપોર થી જાપાન ના પ્રવાસ દરમ્યાન થયેલ. 

સિંગાપોર છોડ્યા પછી ત્રીજા દિવસે જયારે અમે સાઉથ ચાયના ના દરીયાઈ વિસ્તાર માંથી પસાર થઇ રહ્યા હતા, ત્યારે જહાજ ના ચાલક એન્જીન ને રીપેર માટે ૪૮ કલાક શટડાઉન કરવું પડેલ. તે દરમ્યાન તોફાની દરિયા માં ૨૦-૨૫ ફૂટ ઊંચા ઉછળતા મોજાઓ  વચ્ચે ચો તરફ દરિયાના અફાટ જળ વચ્ચે ૭૦૦ ફૂટ લંબાઈ નું અમારું લોખંડી જહાજ  એક નાનકડી કાગળ ની હોડી માફક આમથી તેમ બે દિવસ સુધી દરિયામાં ફંગોળાતું રહ્યુ . એન્જીન રીપેર થયા પછી ચાલુ થયું ત્યારે ફરી અમારા નિર્ધારિત ટ્રેક રૂટ ઉપર અમારો પ્રવાસ આગળ વધ્યો.

બાળ જૈન દીક્ષાર્થી # G 006 #

સાચું કહેજો આ બાળ જૈન દીક્ષાર્થી ની વીડીયો કલીપ જોયા પછી તમારા મનમાં શું વિચાર આવ્યો? 

બૌધિક લોકો ને જરૂર સંકલ્પ-વિકલ્પ ઉઠશે કે આ નાના  બાળકે હજુ દુનિયા જોઈ નથી અને પોતાના જીવન ના નિર્ણયો જાતે લઇ શકે તેટલી પુખ્ત ઉંમર થઇ નથી ત્યારે દીક્ષા શા માટે? બાળ વિવાહ ની જેમજ  બાળ દીક્ષા પણ વર્જ્ય હોવી જોઈએ ! 

મને પણ પહેલા એવોજ ખોટો વિચાર આવ્યો. પણ બીજી જ ક્ષણે મને યોગી બાપા યાદ આવ્યા. યોગીજી મહારાજ આવાજ નાના નાના બાળકો ને નિર્જળા ઉપવાસ કરવાની આજ્ઞા કરતા. કોઈ  એક હરિભક્ત ને આ વાત રુચિ નહિ એટલે તેમણે યોગી બાપા પાસે રૂબરૂ માં વિરોધ નોંધાવ્યો. ત્યારે યોગી બાપા એ તેમની લાક્ષણીક ઢબે કીધેલ - "ગુરુ તમે બાળક ના  શરીર સામે જોઈ ને વાત કરો છો જયારે હું તેના આત્મા સામે જોઈ ને વાત કરું છું".  

કહેવાનો મતલબ કે બૌદ્ધિક લોકો બધાજ નિર્ણયો સ્કુલ/કોલેજ માં શીખવાતા તર્ક અને વિજ્ઞાન થી મુલવે છે, એટલે અધ્યાત્મ ની દ્રષ્ટિ થી લેવાતા નિર્ણયો તેમની સમજણ ની બહાર હોય છે અને તેઓને  જચતા/ગમતા નથી. 

 નાના બાળક ને  જયારે પ્રાથમિક શાળા નો ગણિત નો શિક્ષક ૧ + ૧ = ૨ શીખવે છે ત્યારે તે  ક્યારે પણ પ્રશ્ન કરતો નથી કે ૨ કેવી રીતે અને 3 શા માટે નહિ. કારણ કે ત્યારે તેના દિમાગ ની પાટી કોરી હોય છે. એજ બાળક જેમ જેમ શાળા કોલેજ અને મહા વિદ્યાલય માંથી પદવી લઇ ને બહાર પડે છે, ત્યારે તેના દિમાગ ની પાટી તર્ક શક્તિ અને વિજ્ઞાન ઉપરાંત અહમ થી ભરાઈ ચુકી હોય છે. ત્યાર બાદ તેમાં આધ્યાત્મ કહેતા "આત્મા" વિશેના જ્ઞાન માટે ખાલી જગા બચતી નથી. સ્કુલ/કોલેજ ના અભ્યાસ પછી તર્ક કરવાને ટેવાયેલી તેમની બુદ્ધિ ગુરુ અને શાસ્ત્ર વચન મા વિશ્વાસ મૂકી શકતી નથી.

આધ્યાત્મ નું પ્રથમ પગથીયું છે, સાચા અને શાસ્ત્રોકત ગુરુ ને શોધી, મન ધાર્યું મૂકી ને ગુરુ  વચન અને શાસ્ત્રો માં ૧૦૦ ટકા વિશ્વાસ મૂકવો. જે શાળા/મહા શાળા ઓ માં કેવળ તર્ક અને વિજ્ઞાન ભણેલ લોકો માટે સહેલું નથી. માટેજ જગત આજે આધ્યાત્મ થી વિમુખ થઇ ને ભૌતિક સુખ તરફ આંધળી દોટ મૂકી રહ્યું છે. 

તેમાં જો કે કેટલાક અપવાદ પણ હોય છે જેમકે બહેરીનમાં રહેતા સરદાર જશ્બીર સીંઘ અને અમદાવાદ ના ડોક્ટર બાજોડીયા.

સિવિલ એન્જીનીયરીંગ માં  અમેરિકાની ઉચ્ચ પદવી ધરાવતા જસ્બીર સીંઘ બહેરીનની એક મોટી કંપની માં ભાગીદાર હતા. તેઓ પ્રમુખ સ્વામીના શિષ્ય હોવાને નાતે હું તેમને મળી ચુક્યો છું. સ્વામી 

શ્રી ની આજ્ઞા પ્રમાણે તેઓ કંપની ની ભાગીદારી માંથી ફારગત થઇ ને હવે તે જ કંપની માં એક પગારદાર મેનેજર તરીકે હવે ફરજ બજાવે છે.

એવોજ કિસ્સો અમદાવાદ ના એન્કોલોજીસ્ટ (કેન્સર નિષ્ણાંત ) ડોક્ટર બાજોડીયા નો છે. ગુરુની આજ્ઞા પ્રમાણે તેમની ધીકતી અંગત પ્રેકટીશ આટોપી ને અમદાવાદ ની સિવિલ હોસ્પિટલ માં નજીવા પગારદાર ડોક્ટર તરીકે હવે તેઓ સેવા આપે છે.

યુ ટ્યુબ ઉપર કાજલ ઓઝા વૈદ્ય ના ઘણા બધા પ્રવર્ચનો ઉપલબ્ધ છે   અને કેટલાક તો સ્ત્રી સ્વાતંત્ર્યતા ના  નામે  સ્વછંદતાને  પોષતા મને જણાયા છે.

પરંતુ આ પ્રવર્ચનમાં આપણે બધાજ જે સામાન્ય ભૂલો કરી રહ્યા છીએ તે તરફ તેમણે બહુજ સરસ  અંગુલી નિર્દેશ કર્યો છે, એટલે આ પ્રવર્ચન મારી જેમ આપને પણ જરૂર ગમશે.
